Proud to present yesterday at the @kucancercenter research retreat at Embassy Suites in Olathe. Presented w/ Dr. Joan Lewis-Wambi who highlighted her research in triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) which was funded by @alisonsallies! I spoke about the importance of researchers collaboration with survivors. Amazing presentations! Great poster sessions by young researchers [much of which I did not understand!]. One poster session on the Bayesian method which I used for my master’s research! Great leadership from Dr. Jensen & Dr. Sufi Thomas, supporting continued research in challenging times. Thank you to all of the RESEARCHERS & future researchers!

ARTICLE:  KU Cancer Center Researcher Identifies Trip-Negative Breast Cancer Biomarker with Pilot Funding from Alison's Allies

A privilege to be asked to speak at the annual Olathe Schools DigPink™ event.  This is an event involves all 5 Olathe District high school volleyball teams.  On Sunday evening, the parents hold a banquet for the girls and have several speakers.  The speakers highlight the importance of breast health 💖 and the challenges of a breast cancer journey! I was able to share my breast cancer journey and highlight the importance of early detection, giving love to those struggling with breast cancer, and the importance of 'paying it forward'.  The DigPink™ event raises funds for the Side Out Foundation provides care & research for Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer!
