*** 𝙀𝙢𝙞𝙡𝙮 𝙍𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘿𝙞𝙚𝙧𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜. A special friend from undergrad school! She has been a member of the 𝑨𝒍𝒊𝒔𝒐𝒏'𝒔 𝑨𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒔 𝑻𝒆𝒂𝒎 since the beginning in 2010. Emily helped to lead off the team this year and helped get the ‘Alison’s Allies sign’ in position, ready for the picture. Thanks Emily for being a faithful supporter of the 𝑨𝒍𝒊𝒔𝒐𝒏'𝒔 𝑨𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒔 mission!
*** 𝙈𝙖𝙜𝙜𝙞𝙚 𝙂𝙖𝙜𝙣𝙤𝙣 volunteered for the 𝘼𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙤𝙣'𝙨 𝘼𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙒𝙖𝙡𝙠 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝘽𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝘾𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙧 when she was both a junior and then again as a senior at Olathe North High School in the Sports Med Academy. This special young lady also volunteered for the 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 𝘼𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙤𝙣'𝙨 𝘼𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙒𝙖𝙡𝙠 and came back to the Olathe from college! Maggie was the official t-shirt distributor for those needing a different size or a shirt. Thank you Maggie for being a special supporter of 𝘼𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙤𝙣'𝙨 𝘼𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙨. You are making a positive impact on the fight against breast cancer!
*** My younger brother 𝐂𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐠 has been a special supporter through my cancer journey and now as a faithful volunteer for the 𝘼𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙤𝙣'𝙨 𝘼𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙒𝙖𝙡𝙠 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝘽𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝘾𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙧! He arrives in town the night before, gets up pre-dawn, helps put out signs and set up tables, helps with the microphone, is the guardian of the bathroom key, helps with tear down… in other words, does whatever it takes to have a successful event! Thank you 𝐂𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐠 for being a special brother! Love you!
With a team of 160+ people at the 𝘼𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙤𝙣'𝙨 𝘼𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙒𝙖𝙡𝙠 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝘽𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝘾𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙧 there’s bound to be someone that needs a little help! The golf carts do the trick! A big thanks to neighbors 𝙈𝙞𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙚𝙡 𝘼𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙗𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙙 & 𝙎𝙩𝙚𝙫𝙚 𝘼𝙧𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙩𝙤𝙣 who loaned us 2 golf carts! And a super big thank you to 𝙆𝙖𝙢𝙞𝙚𝙡, a high school assistant principal and breast cancer survivor & her husband 𝙂𝙧𝙚𝙜 𝙕𝙞𝙢𝙢𝙚𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙣 who drove the golf carts! Amazing support for the cause! They all embody our motto ‘A Force for GOOD!’
*** Every year students volunteer to help at the 𝘼𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙤𝙣'𝙨 𝘼𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙒𝙖𝙡𝙠 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝘽𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝘾𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙧. And that means getting up very early on a Saturday morning! This year is no different!
-5 students from the 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐞 & 𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐲 at 𝐎𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 have volunteered to help with the post-walk event.
-3 students from the 𝐎𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 have volunteered to take photos throughout the morning!
-5 students from the 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐲 at 𝐎𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 will be helping direct traffic and assist with the parking lot! A big thanks to these students & their teacher sponsors! 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞!
OLATHE NORTH: A big 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐊 𝐘𝐎𝐔 to these wonderful students from the 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐞 & 𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐲 at 𝐎𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥. They volunteered at the 𝑷𝑶𝑺𝑻-𝑪𝑬𝑳𝑬𝑩𝑹𝑨𝑻𝑰𝑶𝑵 𝑬𝑽𝑬𝑵𝑻 at the 𝘼𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙤𝙣'𝙨 𝘼𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙒𝙖𝙡𝙠 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝘽𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝘾𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙧. Not only were they up early on a Sat., but they handled a very large crowd of walkers, replenished give aways and snacks, and even stayed to clean up! Thanks also to 𝐌𝐫𝐬. 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞 & 𝐄𝐦𝐫𝐢 𝐁𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐬 who facilitated the post-celebration event! So fortunate to have these young people helping to make a difference! The future is in good hands!
OLATHE WEST: A big 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐊 𝐘𝐎𝐔 to these wonderful students from the 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐲 at 𝐎𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥. They volunteered directing traffic & parking the 160+ walkers at the 𝘼𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙤𝙣'𝙨 𝘼𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙒𝙖𝙡𝙠 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝘽𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝘾𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙧. Not only were they up early on a Sat., but they handled a very large crowd of walkers, under the supervision of 𝐌𝐫. 𝐏𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐞 𝐁𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐬! So fortunate to have these young people helping to make a difference! The future is in good hands!
OLATHE EAST: A big 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐊 𝐘𝐎𝐔 to the two wonderful students from the photography dept. at 𝐎𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 who volunteered to take photos throughout the morning!. They helped to take pictures of the 160+ walkers at the 𝘼𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙤𝙣'𝙨 𝘼𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙒𝙖𝙡𝙠 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝘽𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝘾𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙧. Not only were they up early on a Sat., but they handled a very large crowd of walkers, with the photo support of Tes Mehring! So fortunate to have these young people helping to make a difference! The future is in good hands!
𝐆𝐄𝐍𝐄 𝐒𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐑 is one of them. Yearly he helps to print the checks for the ‘fake check presentation’! And the cost of the checks is supported the amazing 𝙏𝙤𝙢 𝘾𝙤𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙨 & the Jared Coones Pumpkin Run Foundation. Gene & Tom you both are definitely a 𝙁𝙊𝙍𝘾𝙀 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙂𝙊𝙊𝘿! Love you!
